Shepherd's CLOSET

WARMING LITTLE BODIES =
WARMING LITTLE HEARTS =
SHAPING TOMORROW’S ADULTS

THE ORIGIN OF THE SHEPHERD'S CLOSET

Several years ago, Mae Seeley and several of our members at Shepherd's Center of North Dallas answered the call for tutors needed at a local elementary school School in West Dallas near Love Field.

Soon after this service project began for Shepherd's Center, it became apparent that along with the need for weekly one-on-one tutoring, acting as mentors, and teaching self esteem, many of these elementary children also needed warm clothing.

Ms. Seeley’s personal project of going to Good Will and Salvation Army Stores to find needed jackets soon expanded. Other members of our Center began to donate money to buy jackets, as well as giving money for the school’s required uniforms.

Now, other volunteer groups in Dallas are carrying on the tutoring program at a local elementary school while Shepherd's Closet supplies needed clothing each year. What started out as buying one jacket for one little boy on a cold winter day several years ago has now expanded to annually purchasing many jackets and lots of uniforms to deliver. There is always a need for school uniforms and warm jackets.

Should you wish to become involved in this child-warming, heart-warming project, your donations are welcomed and most appreciated.
